Science, art and the unknown: My story

People often ask how my interests in science, art and finance connect and I usually respond with a bit of humour: “When artists meet, they talk about money and when bankers meet, they talk about art.” However, there’s a deeper connection here — both science and art are ways of exploring reality, each offering unique tools to interpret the world’s complexities.

I began my professional journey in Bucharest, where I completed my studies in Pharmacy at the C. Davila University of Medicine and Pharmacy. My fascination with biopharmaceuticals — medicines produced in living organisms — motivated me to seek further. Recognising the potential of this emerging field, I moved to London to complete my Master of Science in Biopharmaceuticals at King’s College London. The industry was still young in 2012, with therapies like monoclonal antibodies just beginning to shape the future. This choice set me on a path full of possibilities, where I could contribute to new developments in the field.

London also became my creative hub. An abstract expressionism exhibition at the Royal Academy of Arts reignited my passion, prompting me to resume my art practice. Soon after, I embraced London’s vibrant art scene, attending courses at the Slade School of Fine Art and exploring drawing, painting and sculpture. My art explores a recurring theme: How do we maintain our identity in an ever-changing environment? This question resonates with my career journey and values of authenticity, leadership and creativity.

My career has taken me across the United Kingdom, Ireland and Austria. Each role has deepened my expertise and enriched my perspective. In my most recent roles I’ve overseen early and late-phase drug development projects from discovery through commercial launch, helping bring innovative medicines to patients.

A consistent theme in my work has been bridging disciplines and promoting collaboration. By connecting diverse perspectives, I’ve sparked innovation across global initiatives as well as creative ventures. My strengths in strategic thinking, communication and adaptability help me navigate complex projects and move ideas forward.

I see design as an extension of art, a philosophy shared by Bruno Munari, who believed that creativity bridges function and beauty. As I continue developing my brand, I’ve expanded my visual design practice to reflect my experiences in science, leadership and the arts. Starting with my logo and website visuals, I aim to infuse creativity into every project — whether it’s drug and device development or visual design.
